The Meta 5 made it on the cover page of the magazine Australian Mountainbike, edition June/July 2008. Its publication is semi-monthly, and the readership comprises 70.000.
« (Since the first test)…this bike has weaselled its way into our top favourites in a very short period of time. It has the heart of a Downhill Bike – loves aggressive riding and it’ll tame the rough with a quickness…the handling and feel is superb. »
Hey blokes, you know, what’s good!

UK National Point Series - Round 1

Al Forest in Scottland was the opening venue for this years DH Championsship in Great Britain.
Rachel and Gee ATHERTON are the absolute winners of this first round. After they had to spend two weeks in American dust, its now in knee deep Scottish mud with which the team ANIMAL-COMMENCAL has to deal with.
Rachel ATHERTON smashes the women’s field and wins the race with a fantastic 2.44, followed by Tracey Moseley (2.59), and Helen Gaskell (3.09).
On the men’s side its Gee ATHERTON who wins the first place and finishes with an excellent 2.23, and his Brother Dan reaches a 2.26. Marc Beaumont wins the third place (2.27). This was the second ATHERTONS cleansweep of the year, a very good sign of things to come as we head into the World Cup Opener, starting in Maribor, Slovenia, in 10 days.

SEA OTTER : Dual Slalom!!!

Gee and Dan crash out during the 1/16 and quarterfinals, respectively.
Unlike last year the track was very dusty, and strong winds prevent the riders from showing off just how talented they are. Greg MINNAAR wins, ahead of Steve PEAT, while Sabrina JONNIER takes the win in front of Melissa BULH.
Rachel ATHERTON taking 3rd place after losing out on reaching the second step by only a few hundredths of a second. Our Young Gun rider, Micayla GATTO, did a great job while out for the first time on her Absolut 4X, but was knocked out of contention by Sabrina in the quarterfinals.
Today sees the DH events taking place, let’s hope the strong winds die down.
