META POWER 29 - New Engine, New Battery, New Frame
The switch to an integrated battery from the 2020 META POWER 29 range has significantly improved its performance. For 2021, we're taking full advantage of all the experience we've collected from our numerous tests in order to make it even more effective.
Equipped with the all new SHIMANO EP8 engine, the bike now features a higher torque (85 N.m), whilst the power output curve has been optimised. The result? A softer bike with better control, grip and more responsive to pedal strokes. To top it off, the new 630Wh battery increases capacity significantly, and that's not all? The positioning of the motor is such to enable the lowest battery position possible, meaning much better weight distribution. Finally, a new engine mount combined with a new generation engine guard, optimises space and reduces the risks of it catching the ground.
With 170mm travel at the front and 160mm on the back, the META POWER 29 is a bike designed for riding the most technically demanding trails, both uphill and downhill. With a slacker head angle and an extended wheelbase it has gained in stability without compromising the handling.
Like the META AM 29, the META POWER 29 will delight riders hungry for performance and who like to commit, regardless of the difficulty of the trails. An electric enduro made to keep going and going, fast.
The look of this new bike has evolved in depth. It's very simple, everything's new! The sharper lines clearly underline the improved performance.
META POWER 29 ESSENTIAL
FOX and SHIMANO dominate this META POWER 29. The new SHIMANO EP8 engine and its 630Wh battery significantly increases the capacity. FOX takes care of the suspension with its new enduro fork, the 38 Performance. As the name suggests, they have 38mm diameter upper tubes for added precision when the going gets rough. As for the shock, we have the FOX Float X Performance which will provide you with fool proof grip and dynamism. Modern in every way, this model also features the new SHIMANO SLX 12-speed transmission and Deore 4-piston 203mm brakes.

META POWER bikes are delivered with Shimano Europlug (CEE 7/7 norm) battery charger, a plug adapter is necessary for customers living in countries using different standards.
Battery recycling
Partnership with SHIMANO
In partnership with SHIMANO, COMMENCAL supports a voluntary battery recycling program for ebike batteries. For each META POWER sold COMMENCAL will contribute 7EUR to fundraising organisation COREPILE. This sum is paid through SHIMANO France. When your battery reaches the end of its life, it would be great if you could send it back to us for recycling.

What Size to Choose?
According to your riding style, choose a bike with a shorter Reach for more responsive and intuitive handling, or one with a longer Reach for more stability and confidence at high speeds. On a longer model, the front wheel is positioned farther forward, giving an enhanced feeling of security but at the expense of maneuverability and requiring more effort to move the bike.
Between Two Sizes?
When you find yourself between two sizes, the ideal solution is to test ride both to see which fits you best. Unfortunately, this isn't always possible. At minimum, check the Reach and Stack measurements of your current bike to compare them with those of the model you're considering. This will give you a better idea of which size to choose and how the position will feel once on the bike. You can also follow the advice below.
Morphology
Body proportions vary from person to person, even at identical heights. If you have long legs and a shorter-than-average torso, you might consider choosing a bike with a shorter Reach than the recommended size. Conversely, if you have long arms and a more developed upper body, the larger size might be better suited to your morphology. Ideally, you should try before you choose.
