Congratulations on the purchase of your COMMENCAL META POWER BOSCH. Here we offer some help so you can build it up and get out there!


IMPORTANT: Please read the BOSCH manual carefully beforehand.

DO NOT switch on the battery until you’ve charged it 100% (final steps).

STEP 0

STEP 1

Prepare the necessary tools before you start:

- Allen keys

- Pliers

- Grease

- Flat head screwdriver

- Torx T10 screwdriver

- Torque wrench

STEP 2

Open the box at the top and remove all of the staples/sharp packaging so that you don’t risk scratches.

STEP 3

Remove the front wheel from the box.

STEP 4

Lift the bike out of the box vertically holding the back end and the fork.

STEP 5

Remove the accessory box. Now there is nothing left in the bike box.

STEP 6

Check what’s in the accessory box.

STEP 7

Accessory box :

- Flat pedals

- BOSCH 4A charger

- BOSCH/ABUS keys and card (attached on the bike)

- COMMENCAL key holder / battery removal tool

- Hose clips

- Light kit, bell, reflectors

- Tubeless valves (except on Ride version)

- Extra FOX dropper remote (only on Signature version)

STEP 8

Remove protections on front wheel.

STEP 9

Remove protections on frame.

STEP 10

Remove protection on handlebar.

STEP 11

With the 4mm Allen key, unscrew the stem cap screws.

STEP 12

Assemble the handlebar and stem.

Centre the bars with the help of the laser markings on it.

With the 4mm Allen key, tighten the top screws of the stem. It’s a zero gap assembly, so clamps must be in contact with stem body.

STEP 13

Remove the BOSCH/ABUS keys and card from front brake hose.

IMPORTANT: keep the BOSCH/ABUS card, in case of loosing your keys, it’s the way to get new ones.

STEP 14

Take out the plastic separators from inside the front brake.

Keep them for if/when you transport your bike anywhere.

STEP 15

Loosen the front wheel axle pinch bolt, with a 6mm Allen key.

STEP 16

Take out the front axle with the help of the 6mm Allen key.

STEP 17

Grease the axle, in particular the thread.

STEP 18

Check what’s in the accessory box.

STEP 19

Torque the wheel axle to 9N.m

STEP 20

Torque the pinch bolt to 5N.m

STEP 21

To set up your headset:

- Loosen the 2 screws on the stem at the fork pivot with a 4mm Allen key

- Align the stem with the front wheel

- Tighten the headset top cap screw with a 5mm Allen key

- Check that there is no play in the headset and that it turns freely

STEP 22

Torque the stem bolts at 5.5N.m

STEP 23

Fine align the handlebar position, and then torque the lower stem clamp bolts at 5.5N.m

STEP 24

Put your pedals on.

Make sure you remember they have specific sides, the right pedal (Right) has a thread on the right, the left pedal (Left) has a thread on the left (reversed).

Grease the threads of the pedals.

STEP 25

Tighten them with a 6mm Allen key and wrench to 35N.m.

STEP 26

To set the dropper post height :

Loosen the seat clamp bolt with a 4mm Allen key.

STEP 27

If you pull the post up, push the hose in the down tube.

If you push the post down, pull the hose out of the down tube.

STEP 28

Once correct height is set, torque the seat clamp bolt 4,5N.m

STEP 29

To set up the front brake :

Loosen the screws on the front brake caliper half a turn with a 5mm Allen key.

Adjust the caliper so you have the same space on each side between the disc and the pads and to prevent the disc from rubbing the pads.

Once the caliper is aligned, tighten the screws on the front brake caliper with a 5mm Allen key.

Also check the alignment of the rear brake caliper.

STEP 30

Place the hose clips to tidy up your cables.

STEP 31

To connect the BOSCH system, the System Controller on top tube must be plugged.

Unscrew the bolt with a Torx T10 key.

STEP 32

Remove the System Controller from the top tube.

STEP 33

Plug the wire in the System Controller. White marks must be aligned.

STEP 34

Install the System Controller in the top tube from the front part.

STEP 35

Tighten the bolt with a Torx T10 key, at 1,5N.m

STEP 36

STEP 37

IMPORTANT: Before starting the system, the battery should be fully charged.

To remove battery from frame, insert Bosch key in the lock rubber cover, on right side of top tube.

STEP 38

Turn the key clockwise, to unlock the battery.

The battery is unlatched, secure the battery with your hand.

Press down on the latch to release the battery from the restraint support.

STEP 39

Battery will unlatch and drop into your hand.

Remove the battery from the frame.

STEP 40

Plug the charger, to fully charge the battery.

STEP 41

When fully charged, insert the battery with the contacts into the corresponding mount on the frame.

Turn the key clockwise to unlock the lock and keep it open with the key.

Press the battery into the mount until it is held by the restrain support.

STEP 42

Press the battery in completely until it latches firmly in place.

Lock the lock and remove the key.

Check for secure seating.

STEP 43

You can also charge directly the battery on the bike, by plugging the charger on the down tube charging port, on left side of the bike.

STEP 44

Scan the QR Code on top tube, to get the BOSCH eBike Flow app. And get the best of your Bosch system.

STEP 45

NOTE: The magnet attached on the rear wheel valve, is part of the BOSCH system. It is the speed indicator.

If you install tubeless valves, do not forget to keep the magnet in place.

STEP 46

Keep the card that comes with the keys. The number on it allows you to order new keys, in case they get lost.

NOTE: you can use the COMMENCAL key holder to release the latch of the battery.

STEP 47

Set up your suspensions, according to brand and model.

Check tires pressure, adjust cockpit and saddle position to your preferences.

Check drivetrain set up.

Your bike is now ready to ride !

Push the ON button on the BOSCH System Controller.

And go shred your META POWER BOSCH !
