CHECK OUT THE FRS
The COMMENCAL FRS Essential Pure White is built to dominate the world’s most challenging freeride terrain. Whether you're dropping in at Whistler Mountain Bike Park or ripping through the desert on Moab's Whole Enchilada Trail, this DH bike delivers unmatched performance. With 27.5" wheels, the FRS offers a responsive yet grounded feel, ensuring stability and confidence, especially when the trail gets rough. The bike’s unique suspension design allows riders to choose between the Sensitive position for superior grip and the Responsive position for an agile, lively ride.
At the 2022 Red Bull Rampage, freeride legend Brett Rheeder showcased the FRS’s true potential, nailing the podium with this machine. It's not just built for the park, but for sending big lines on secret steeps, mastering technical descents, and attacking fast-flowing bike park trails like those at Trestle Bike Park in Colorado or Angel Fire Bike Park in New Mexico.
HOW TO ADJUST THE KINEMATICS
COMMENCAL FRS ESSENTIAL PURE WHITE - Designed for Freeride Excellence
High-Performance Components for Ultimate Control
Outfitted with FOX RACING SHOX suspension, the FRS delivers precise adjustments to suit any rider’s size or style. The FOX 40 Performance fork and Float X2 Performance shock feature air springs and easy tuning, ensuring a smooth ride whether you're tackling Mammoth Mountain's rocky terrain or boosting jumps at Highland Mountain Bike Park.
When it comes to braking, the FRS features TRP DH-R Evos with 203mm discs, providing the power and modulation you need to control descents on steep trails like those found at Northstar Bike Park in California. The SRAM GX DH transmission offers precise gear changes, engineered for the demands of downhill riding, ensuring seamless performance even under the toughest conditions.
Rounding out the build are SPANK Spike Race 33 rims paired with durable hubs, designed to handle the punishment of freeride. The MAXXIS Assegai and Minion DHRII tires with DH casing provide the grip you need to attack any trail with confidence, whether you're riding the loamy trails of Mount Baker or the rocky singletrack of Kingdom Trails in Vermont.

2 positions
All lengths in millimeters.
According to your riding style, choose a bike with a shorter Reach for more responsive and intuitive handling, or one with a longer Reach for more stability and confidence at high speeds. On a longer model, the front wheel is positioned farther forward, giving an enhanced feeling of security but at the expense of maneuverability and requiring more effort to move the bike.
When you find yourself between two sizes, the ideal solution is to test ride both to see which fits you best. Unfortunately, this isn't always possible. At minimum, check the Reach and Stack measurements of your current bike to compare them with those of the model you're considering. This will give you a better idea of which size to choose and how the position will feel once on the bike. You can also follow the advice below.
Body proportions vary from person to person, even at identical heights. If you have long legs and a shorter-than-average torso, you might consider choosing a bike with a shorter Reach than the recommended size. Conversely, if you have long arms and a more developed upper body, the larger size might be better suited to your morphology. Ideally, you should try before you choose.
Our kinematics are the result of advanced engineering for optimal working harmony of front and rear suspension with our bikes.
This guide is aimed to help understand exactly how things work and set everything up so that your COMMENCAL functions in the best way.
