What Size to Choose?
According to your riding style, choose a bike with a shorter Reach for more responsive and intuitive handling, or one with a longer Reach for more stability and confidence at high speeds. On a longer model, the front wheel is positioned farther forward, giving an enhanced feeling of security but at the expense of maneuverability and requiring more effort to move the bike.
Between Two Sizes?
When you find yourself between two sizes, the ideal solution is to test ride both to see which fits you best. Unfortunately, this isn't always possible. At minimum, check the Reach and Stack measurements of your current bike to compare them with those of the model you're considering. This will give you a better idea of which size to choose and how the position will feel once on the bike. You can also follow the advice below.
Morphology
Body proportions vary from person to person, even at identical heights. If you have long legs and a shorter-than-average torso, you might consider choosing a bike with a shorter Reach than the recommended size. Conversely, if you have long arms and a more developed upper body, the larger size might be better suited to your morphology. Ideally, you should try before you choose.

How do I choose the right META POWER SX AVINOX size?
Refer to the COMMENCAL size guide and choose according to your body type and riding style. Longer = more stable. Shorter = more playful. If you are between two sizes, think first about the terrain you ride most often.
What kind of ride feel does the geometry provide?
A balance between stability and manoeuvrability: stable enough to go fast downhill, lively enough to stay precise on winding trails. The bike inspires confidence in all situations. Its geometry helps you feel 'at home' from the first pedal strokes.
Is the bike compatible with a mullet or full 29" setup?
As standard, it comes in a 29" front and 27.5" rear configuration (mullet), designed to combine stability, grip and agility.
It is not compatible with full 29”.
Electric assistance and AVINOX system
Why did COMMENCAL choose the AVINOX system for this model?
Because it matches the META spirit: available power, smooth delivery, and the ability to go further thanks to a large battery capacity - 800 Wh for sizes M, L and XL / 600 Wh for size S.
How does AVINOX assistance feel on the trail?
The motor delivers strong support when needed, but the bike remains predictable: power comes progressively. On descents, the motor stays discreet to preserve a pure riding feel.
What assistance modes are available and what are they for?
Adjust your level of assistance according to your goal: save energy, ride in Trail mode, or push hard when the terrain allows. (Exact settings and options depend on AVINOX system updates.) All modes can be adjusted and customised via the AVINOX RIDE mobile app.
What range can you realistically expect with aggressive riding?
We highlight an 800 Wh battery (sizes M, L and XL) and 600 Wh in size S, aimed at long rides including Turbo mode. Actual range depends on elevation, mode and riding style. For example, an average-weight rider (75 kg) can ride up to 100km with the 800 Wh battery (variable depending on modes used and elevation gain).
How is the battery charged and how long does it take?
The AVINOX system features an ultra-fast charger: 75% in 1 hour 30 minutes. All our AVINOX bikes are delivered with the fast charger.
Can you ride without assistance or with an empty battery?
Yes, like any e-bike it moves forward, but requires more effort when pedalling.
How can I protect the lifespan of the battery?
To preserve the battery, avoid storing the bike with the battery fully charged or fully discharged for long periods. In theory, to extend battery life, avoid charging it above 80% of its capacity.
Can you add a range extender or additional battery?
At the moment, AVINOX does not offer this type of product.
Behaviour and handling
How does the META POWER SX AVINOX perform on fast descents?
With 160mm of travel and VCS kinematics, it is designed to hold speed, maintain grip and absorb heavy impacts.
Is it effective on technical and steep climbs?
Yes. The motorization, torque (up to 120 Nm) and geometry are designed to climb without fighting a front wheel that wants to lift.
What is the maximum assisted speed according to regulations?
In Europe, assistance is limited to 25 km/h for compliant e-MTBs (beyond that, you pedal without assistance). Regulations may vary outside the EU (32 km/h in the USA, for example).
Does the bike remain quiet on descents and rough terrain?
We emphasize protection parts and finishes aimed towards zero noise when you release the brakes. In addition, the motor has no noise related to its freewheel.
Setup, maintenance and durability
What suspension settings do you recommend for the first ride?
Simple base settings can be found on each META POWER SX AVINOX product page. We recommend setting your SAG first, then adjusting rebound. After that, refine according to your terrain and level.
How often should I service my META POWER SX AVINOX?
We recommend servicing your META POWER SX AVINOX at least once a year depending on usage (suspension, bearings, brake bleed, etc.).
What are best practices to extend battery life?
Avoid extreme temperatures. Store the bike in a dry place and favour regular charging over repeated full charging.
Is the META POWER SX AVINOX easy to maintain daily?
Yes. Regular ‘classic’ MTB maintenance (drivetrain/brakes/bearings) and visual checks are sufficient. For electronics, go through support or a workshop if needed.
Compatibility
What tyre widths are recommended?
The frame is designed for a maximum 2.5 rear tyre with a 27.5" wheel. For the front wheel, it depends on the fork brand and model. Refer to third-party manufacturer recommendations.
Can components be customized?
Yes. Wheels, brakes, cockpit, tyres… The bike is designed to be adapted to your terrain and riding style. Simply respect the standards and compatibilities indicated in the META POWER SX AVINOX technical sheet.
What accessories come with the complete bike?
Plastic frame protections, front mudguard, Fidlock bottle mount (delivered without bottle), frame protection by Ride Wrap on the most exposed areas.
Can I install a 29" rear wheel?
No, our frame is only compatible with 27.5" on the back.
Can I install a 180mm fork or more travel (dual crown fork)?
No, our geometry only accepts 29" forks with 160mm or 170mm of travel. Our frame does not accept dual crown forks either. The warranty will no longer apply in case of non-compliant modification by the user.
Transport, storage and logistics
How do I safely transport the META POWER SX AVINOX?
Avoid pressure on cables and controls, protect the frame (foam), and secure the battery and charger. A bike rack approved for the weight of an e-bike is strongly recommended.
Can you travel with the battery (car, train, plane)?
Car/train: possible in most cases.
Plane: often complicated or even impossible depending on Wh capacity and airline policy. Always check the airline’s regulations before booking.
How should the bike and battery be stored off-season?
Store them in a dry place, at a stable temperature, and charge periodically. Avoid leaving the battery completely empty for months or permanently at 100%.
COMMENCAL warranty and assistance
What warranty applies to the frame, motor and battery?
The frame benefits from a lifetime warranty for manufacturing defects for the first owner. With specific conditions and exclusions (worn parts, bearings, etc.). The motor/battery and components follow the specific conditions of each supplier. Please refer to the after-sales conditions defined by COMMENCAL, AVINOX and the other component manufacturers.
What should I do in case of electronic or mechanical issues?
Follow the official COMMENCAL CARE procedure. Submit a warranty/assistance request via the form with invoice and photos to speed up diagnosis.
Where should I service my META POWER SX AVINOX?
At a workshop qualified for e-bikes and, for anything related to the AVINOX system, through channels recommended by COMMENCAL (support/workshop) to remain compliant.
Are spare parts available long term?
