META V5 - META SX V5: WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE?
COMMENCAL META SX V5 ESSENTIAL SILVER
Features for British Terrain:
- FOX Suspension Setup: The FOX 38 Float Performance fork with a three-position GRIP cartridge is designed for precision on technical UK trails, such as the roots and rocks of Forest of Dean or steep lines at BikePark Wales. The rear FOX Float X2 Performance shock, with its adjustable rebound and low-speed compression settings, absorbs rough terrain, keeping you composed on all-day epics in Scotland's Tweed Valley or Surrey Hills' natural singletrack.
- SHIMANO SLX Brakes & Gearing: The 12-speed drivetrain and 4-piston SLX brakes provide solid stopping power and reliable shifting, whether you're pushing through mud in the Quantocks or blasting down Wharncliffe Woods' gnarly trails.
- DT SWISS E 532 Rims with Formula Hubs: Designed for durability, the DT Swiss E 532 rims handle the demands of UK rock gardens, drops, and jumps, while tubeless setup gives you confidence to run lower pressures for better grip on wet roots.
- MAXXIS Minion DHRII Tyres with EXO Casing: With a versatile tread that shines in loose and muddy conditions, the MAXXIS DHRII tyres are ideal for year-round UK riding, offering traction and puncture protection essential for the North's rock-strewn routes and Wales’ unpredictable weather.
Whether you're taking on the rocky technical lines at Ae Forest or flowing through Glentress's lush woodland trails, the META SX V5 is built to bring British riders the grip, control, and stability needed for peak performance.

WHICH META V5 TO CHOOSE?
Our META V5 and META SX V5 share the same playing field but have their own style and behaviour. Whether racing or adventuring, the META V5 loves long rides and wild trails. The META SX V5 prefers the slope, jumps or secret trail features, and the bike park. Their common denominator: Enduro
All lengths in millimeters.
All lengths in millimeters.
According to your riding style, choose a bike with a shorter Reach for more responsive and intuitive handling, or one with a longer Reach for more stability and confidence at high speeds. On a longer model, the front wheel is positioned farther forward, giving an enhanced feeling of security but at the expense of maneuverability and requiring more effort to move the bike.
When you find yourself between two sizes, the ideal solution is to test ride both to see which fits you best. Unfortunately, this isn't always possible. At minimum, check the Reach and Stack measurements of your current bike to compare them with those of the model you're considering. This will give you a better idea of which size to choose and how the position will feel once on the bike. You can also follow the advice below.
Body proportions vary from person to person, even at identical heights. If you have long legs and a shorter-than-average torso, you might consider choosing a bike with a shorter Reach than the recommended size. Conversely, if you have long arms and a more developed upper body, the larger size might be better suited to your morphology. Ideally, you should try before you choose.
