The ASSEGAI is one of the best known Maxxis tyres. Often praised for its grip, it is a tyre that is placed more on the front in favour of a better roller on the back.
The Double Down version is recommended for enduro. It has a two-layer 120 TPI casing and a reinforcement insert on the sidewall for maximum durability. Lighter than DH casings, they also make for more dynamic rolling performance. There is also a Butyl reinforcement on the bead to prevent pinch flats and protect the rim.
The 3C MAXXGRIP structure and rubber is the most efficient in terms of grip, the alignment of the knobs combined with a greater proportion of soft rubber on the side knobs has made the reputation of this tyre praised for its exceptional grip and traction.
The Wide Trail construction optimises the position of the tyre and its efficiency on modern rims (30 to 35mm internal width). This contributes to better grip and roll.
