PERFORMANCE FIRST

The SUPREME DH V5 is our pure race machine.

It is the result of three years of work between our R&D department and our athletes, without any compromise being allowed.

ALWAYS REINVENTING

With the ever-evolving nature of downhill racing and a wide variety of tracks, strategic choice of bike settings at the start of the season is no longer relevant. It takes versatility.

The level of World Cup racing continues to grow and requires intense work from the riders in terms of choosing racing lines and limiting time spent on settings.

The requirements of the SUPREME DH V5 are simple: to make a no compromises bike that excels and inspires confidence, no matter the track.

On the technical side, we use high virtual pivot point (HVCS) kinematics. This 6-bar system gives us maximum control over the behaviour of the suspension whatever the range of travel being used.

The balance, shock absorption, and dynamism of the bike are therefore working in harmony. The goal has been reached!

Arthur QUET - Race Program Technical Manager.

With a concentrate of technologies and experience, the V5 inaugurates the HIGH VIRTUAL CONTACT SYSTEM kinematics. This is our interpretation of the most efficient system for combining liveliness and shock absorption. This is a 6-bar system with a high pivot point. It’s currently the most efficient when it comes to the divergent parameters of shock absorption and dynamism.

WITHOUT FORGETTING OUR PRINCIPLES

This frame is made of aluminium. This material can be recycled and recovered and is also an ideal material for best performance. Our frames are constantly evolving, and aluminium allows us to optimise our kinematics and geometry as often as we like.

VERSATILITY

SYNONYMOUS WITH PERFORMANCE

Amaury. He is also someone behind all this work. The objective is clear, to be the best through every sector of every World Cup track. To achieve this, we have designed a bike with kinematics and geometry that can change according to the track.

SUSPENSION KINEMATICS

A flip chip at the shock anchor allows adjustment of the suspension kinematics. It has four settings that can be adapted depending on how you ride or what you’re riding. More linear with forward anchoring, more progressive with rear anchoring.

CHAIN STAY LENGTH

As an option, the SUPREME DH V5 has an insert to adjust the chain stay length and vary the balance of the frame. The bike is originally delivered with an intermediate setting to cope with as many situations as possible.

REINFORCMENT BRIDGES

Depending on your weight, the terrain, your level, or the weather conditions, you have the option of changing the thickness of the bridge of your SUPREME DH V5 to modify its behaviour.

RELIABILITY AND DURABILITY

Performance does not always mean reliability, but there is no compromise from this point of view either. Simulations, machine tests and field tests were carried out throughout the design phase.

REINFORCED THRU AXLES

The SUPREME DH V5 uses a system of expanders on the through axles to prevent loosening during a run. These are coupled with oversized bearings to avoid rattling and to guarantee long life.

IMPROVED FRAME PROTECTORS

Located at strategic points on the frame, these protectors have been designed to limit impact, noise, and splashes. Chain stays, seat stays, down tube or even the HVCS are all perfectly protected.

From the first few turns, my confidence to trust the SUPREME DH V5 was high […] COMMENCAL has given the race folk what they want; the closest production version of the bike their race team prototyped. The level of grip, support and balance between the wheels is unrivalled. You don’t have to go flat out to achieve that either – It is a comfortable and predictable bike in anyone’s hands.

Matt BEER

Readers of the Vital MTB website have put us at the top of the brand list when choosing a bike with more than 180mm of travel.

Our SUPREME DH and FRS are popular, and we would like to thank the more than 10,000 participants in this survey for the trust they place in our products.
